Empowering Young Minds: Cornell Assistive Technologies at Splash! Cornell

We are thrilled to share that Cornell Assistive Technologies had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Splash! at Cornell program yesterday! This event brought together an enthusiastic cohort of middle and high school students on a Saturday, all eager to dive deeper into their passions and explore new areas of interest.

A Day of Learning and Discovery

Our dedicated Project Outreach and Engagement (POE) team guided these bright young minds into the fascinating world of assistive technology. The day began with an introduction to basic soldering skills, a hands-on experience that allowed students to engage with the fundamentals of circuitry. With newfound confidence, the participants then applied these skills to modify circuits in actual toys, bringing their projects to life with a blend of creativity and technical know-how.

Through this event, Cornell Assistive Technologies members were not only able to share their knowledge but also witnessed the spark of curiosity and excitement in the students. It was truly inspiring to see the joy and sense of accomplishment on the faces of these young attendees as they honed their practical skills and expanded their understanding of assistive technology.

Looking Ahead: Continuing Our Commitment to Educational Outreach

The success of this event has only strengthened our commitment to educational outreach and community engagement. We are proud to have been a part of Splash! at Cornell, a program that offers students the freedom to explore subjects they are passionate about, from STEM fields to the humanities, and even unconventional topics that ignite their curiosity.

We look forward to participating in more Splash! events in the future, where we can continue to inspire and empower the next generation of innovators. Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities to join us in our mission to make learning both fun and impactful!
